13 Spherical roller thrust bearings
Mounting

SKF spherical roller thrust bearings are
separable, making it possible to mount and
dismount the housing washer separately
from the shaft washer and roller and cage
assembly
Where a spherical roller thrust bearing
with a machined metal cage is to be replaced
by an E design bearing with a stamped steel
window-type cage, and axial forces are
transmitted via the cage guiding sleeve, a
spacer ring must be inserted between the
shaft abutment and the shaft washer (ig. 8)
The spacer ring must be hardened and its
side faces should be ground Appropriate
