SKF also manufactures certain sizes of sin- • have load lines that diverge toward the
gle row tapered roller bearings with a lange bearing axis (ig. 11)
on the outer ring (ig. 8) These bearings are • provide a relatively stiff bearing
easy to locate axially in the housing The arrangement
housing bore can be manufactured more • can accommodate tilting moments
easily and more cost-effectively because • can accommodate axial loads in both

The SKF assortment of matched single row
tapered roller bearings (ig. 9) is based on
popular sizes of single row tapered roller
        bearings Depending on the application
        requirements, matched tapered roller bear-
ings are available in different designs and
        variants:

        • matched bearings arranged face-to-face
        • matched bearings arranged back-to-back
        • matched bearings arranged in tandem
        • basic design and SKF Explorer bearings

8 SKF can supply other matched bearings on
        request
Depending on the design, matched bear-
ings can locate the shaft axially in both direc-
tions with a speciic axial clearance or
preload Also depending on the design, these
bearings can provide a relatively stiff bearing
        arrangement
The bearings and ring spacer(s) are
matched in production, are delivered as a set
        and are ready-to-mount

          misalignment

          directions
