Bearing data
SKF high temperature insert bearings are
capped on both sides with a shield and a Deep groove ball bearings Insert bearings (Y-bearings)
linger that create a narrow gap-type laby-
rinth seal (designation sufix 2F) Dimension Boundary dimensions: ISO 15 Boundary dimensions: ISO 9628
For high temperature bearings, metallic standards Series 10, 02, 03
shields are the primary recommendation
where a capping device with low complexity
Tolerances Normal Normal, except the bore and
is required The shields:
outside diameter (table 3,
page 1012)
• prevent the ingress of solid contaminants
into the bearing Values: ISO 492 (table 2, page 1010)
• are non-contacting For additional Owing to the special surface treatment of the bearings, there may
• generate no friction information be slight deviations from the standard tolerances These deviations
• do not wear † page 35 do not affect mounting or bearing operation
• are particularly well suited for high tem-
peratures because of their material and Radial internal Multiples of C5
design
clearance Values (table 4, page 1012) are valid for unmounted bearings
under zero measuring load

Permissible ≈ 20 to 30 minutes of arc
misalignment
Accommodate misalignment only when the bearings rotate slowly
Misalignment increases bearing noise and reduces bearing ser-
vice life, and when it exceeds the guideline values, these effects
become particularly noticeable
Stabilization 120 °C (250 °F) 150 °C (300 °F)
The rings, rolling elements and cages of SKF high temperature
bearings undergo the same heat stabilization process as the rele-
vant standard bearing As a result, for higher operating tempera-
tures, a certain amount of dimensional change is to be expected
Greater clearances accommodate temperature differentials and
material structural changes
